2017 Takoma Park Election Results

Dear Friends and Neighbors:

I’m honored that Ward One residents voted yesterday to give me another term on the Takoma Park City Council. I’m very appreciative that, despite the rainy and cold conditions, so many people took the time to vote.

It’s hard to overstate what an amazing opportunity it is to be able to serve the community I love as an elected official, and it wouldn’t be possible without strong support from the community.

I’m grateful to all who voted, worked at the polls on Election Day, planted yard signs on their property, hosted house parties, made financial contributions, and in so many other ways provided valuable assistance.

I look forward to further close collaboration with Ward One residents, and I’ll be reaching out to folks for more input on priorities for the coming term once the new Council is seated. I'm also looking forward to working with my colleagues on the next Council, which for the first time in our history will have a majority who are women.

For those who are interested, the following link has the preliminary vote totals: https://takomaparkmd.gov/news-alert/2017-election-results/  The Board of Elections will be certifying the numbers tonight and the City Council will formally accept them tomorrow. The new Council will be sworn in on November 15.

Many thanks to everyone who voted!
